Pomegranate health benefits

Pomegranates are rich in vitamins and have healing properties.
Long recognized for their healthful properties, pomegranates contain vitamins A, B, and C, iron, calcium and other essential minerals. They are also rich in antioxidants, which are beneficial for blood circulation, and to the heart. Thus, pomegranates are effective in helping heart disease and arteriosclerosis, and in easing inflammatory conditions.

According to research recently conducted on pomegranate juice and seed oil by the University of California and the Technion Institute of Technology in Israel, pomegranates neutralize free radicals three times more than green tea or red wine.

According to the study, If consumed daily over a long period of time, the powerful antioxidants in pomegranates may help to combat cancer and may also prevent hardening of the arteries.

Additional studies suggest that the fruit may even assist people suffering from various ailments such as Type-2 diabetes and high blood pressure.

The studies also indicate it may promote the retention of LDL cholesterol in the arteries and help alleviate menopausal and post-menopausal symptoms in women (pomegranate is the only plant known to contain estrogens).

Today the pomegranate has become one of the fastest growing trends in the food industry.

The recent studies revealing a multitude of health benefits have led to a rapid increase in the popularity of the fruit worldwide.

Pomegranate seed oil

The Pomegranates contain between 100 – 200 seeds in each fruit. The seeds weigh ~ 10 gr.

At harvest time the fruits are collected by hand. After juicing, the seeds are dried and cold-pressed for the oil - it takes around 100 pomegranates to produce 1 kg of seed and it takes around 7 kg of seed to produce 1 kg of oil.

Pomegranate seed oil is high in anti-oxidants , so its ideal in nourishing and improving skin elasticity. It possesses natural estrogen properties that can help revitalize the skin.

Pure, cold pressed pomegranate nourishes the skin and balances the pH effect while protecting the skin from free radicals.

Pomegranate seed oil is excellent oil for eczema, psoriasis and mature, sunburned or aging skin and may provide quick relief from irritated, dry or cracked skin.

Pomegranate Seed Oil offers major anti-aging benefits, protects against free radicals and damaging environmental effects.
